So why do I need service emails and why can't I use bulk mail instead?
That’s a good question. Service emails are personal messages that the recipient expects to receive. Usually, the receipt of a service email is triggered by some specific action on the customer’s part and serves as an instant response to that action. The main difference between bulk distributions, which are promotional in most cases, and service emails is that service emails are sent one-to-one and relate to specific customers in specific situations.
I already have a bulk email distribution provider, why can’t I send service emails via his service?
Good to see that you’re paying attention. However, UniOne was developed for one specific purpose - to deliver service emails. We chose API as the base of UniOne to provide our clients with the easiest means of integration with any website. All you need to send service emails via UniOne are our handy API methods and our SMTP-servers. And, of course, it’s a lot cheaper than doing the same via a bulk distribution service.
How do I start with UniOne? What do I need?
Frankly, not much at all. Just ask your technical specialist to integrate API with your CRM or website to get it working. Otherwise, you can always contact our highly skilled tech support team to get the help you need. After registration, it’s important to confirm your email address and to set up email authentication (SPF and SKIM), to start using API methods, following the official documentation.
There are a lot of free SMTP servers that I can use. Why should I pay for a specific service?
That’s true, however, quality is the priority. Most email providers (Google, Yahoo, etc.) perform via SMTP, but we wouldn’t recommend you build your transactional email system this way.
The primary obstacle is their daily limits. As an example, Gmail won’t let you send more than 500 messages a day. Naturally, such conditions won’t work when you are talking about transactional emails.
Also, regular incomings from free domains in most cases are marked as spam. Therefore a receipt or a password reset link that has been sent to the spam folder is not the best experience your customer can have.
But I can still set up a personal SMTP-server, right?
Of course, but, in truth, a personal SMTP server is a pretty expensive item, requiring both time and costs to deploy. On the other hand, you can get a solution working straight out of the box. So just plug and play.
Do I need a dedicated IP?
The good news is that you don’t even need to worry about a dedicated IP if you join us. All emails go through our SMTP servers, therefore you can be sure that UniOne’s transactional emails will hit their targets.
However, if you really need a dedicated IP, please, contact our support team. Be aware, this option is extra paid.
